Yelling at child
The truth is that all parents might get angry at their kids. We blame them for our financial worries, when we’re late for work, when we forgеt important things or we’re out of time for ourselves. The list is quite long. Suddenly, we start yelling at our children, blaming them for our troubles and things we couldn’t do. Before you start screaming at your children, remember that’s not the way you will solve your problems. Children are smart and know when you’re out of control, so your efforts to set some rules will be pointless. If you want attention, first you should make your child listen to you and…talk to you. Here are 4 proven ways to stop yelling at your child:

  • Make up a schedule. Set simple rules in your daily activities. Make a list of your kid’s responsibilities, arrange what should be done and when. Once you’ve created a structure, it is most unlikely that your kid will break the rules or skip a task.  Of course, you should also think of some treats to reward your kid for good behavior.
  • Sit and talk together. Make the conversation with your children a private session and stop yelling while you’re doing your regular home cleaning duties. Tell your child that you’ve come to talk to each other. Create a conducive to conversation environment, turn off the TV and avoid any distraction. Sit against each other and start a calm conversation.
  • Tip the good behavior, ignore it if you don’t like it. Have you thought that children may react badly because they need more attention? Therefore, next time you have confrontation with your kids, just ignore them and show that it’s not the right approach to be noticed. Then you will see that sooner or later they will understand that that’s not the right attitude.
  • Steal time for yourself. If you spend the entire weekend cleaning after your children’s mess, tidying up the whole house, sooner or later you’ll get sick and tired of it. That’s the main reason why you take it out on your kid. Sometimes all you need is a change – go shopping in the mall, have a massage at the nearest spa center, change your hairstyle. You can hire someone to perform the end of tenancy cleaning instead of you. You can also leave your kids at your parents’ house for a couple of hours and go out for a walk or meet your old friends you haven’t seen for months.
Try to control your emotions and be very careful and understanding when it comes to your child! Kids tend to remember everything, so be nice and friendly.
